Pactpan Launches a Ground-Breaking Faith Formation Program for African Digital Faith Influencers

The Pan-African Catholic Theology and Pastoral Network, in collaboration with the Dicastery of Communication, has launched a Faith Formation Program that is specifically designed for African Digital Faith Influencers. This innovative program aims to revolutionize how digital influencers witness their faith in the digital world. On February 9th, 2024, at 6 PM in Rome and Lagos and 8 PM in East Africa, participants gathered in a virtual induction ceremony through the PACTPAN Academy to be introduced to the new DFI program. This was a significant moment for everyone involved, as it marked the beginning of a new era of digital faith influence in Africa.

Esteemed personalities such as Dr. Paolo Ruffini, Mons. Lucio (All from the Dicastery of Communications, Rome) Bp. Gerald Musa (Katsina Diocese, Nigeria) Prof. Emilce Cuda (Pontifical Commission for Latin America, member of CEBITEPAL/CELAM) and a close friend of PACTPAN, Prof. Peter Jones (Interim Dean, Institute of Pastoral, Loyola University, Chicago), Fr. Gregory Ekene (Veritas University, Nigeria), members of Leaders Comunidades, journalists, and other dignitaries and stakeholders graced the induction with their presence.

The academy is excited to embark on this journey with the young individuals and looks forward to the collective impact they will make in the digital landscape of faith formation across Africa. The academy recognizes that the digital space has become a powerful platform for sharing, shaping, and nurturing faith in today’s rapidly evolving world. As digital influencers, young individuals can leverage technology to inspire, educate, and connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds, countries, and communities.

The program was founded on the belief that the digital realm offers immense potential for advancing the message of faith and spirituality. The academy’s mission is to equip young individuals with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to effectively engage with the work of evangelization in media spaces and facilitate meaningful conversations about matters of faith and growth.

The young individuals will embark on a transformative journey of learning and growth, guided by experienced mentors and industry experts. The program offers a comprehensive curriculum, interactive workshops, peer learning opportunities, and practical assignments engaging in best practices in Africa. Lastly, personalized support will be available to any of the young individuals in need as they embark on this exciting journey. The academy encourages young individuals to approach this program with enthusiasm and dedication.
