The politics of representation and the colonizing structures that perpetuate colonial stereotypes are still alive in institutions such as schools, media, and the church. It will take critical thinking, a deliberate policy of emancipation, and the practice of self-awareness to overcome the poverty of thinking and mental chains that bind our future to neocolonial exploitation of Africa.
