Simon Mary Aihiohkai

SimonMary Asese Aihiokhai, Ph.D. is associate professor of systematic theology at the University of Portland, Oregon, USA. He is currently the convener of the Black Catholic Consultation at the CTSA. His research interests include religion and identity; interfaith studies; comparative theology; religion and violence; and African philosophies, cultures, and theologies. His works have been published by Oxford University Press, Routledge, Cambridge Scholars Publishing, Palgrave Macmillan, Wipf and Stock Publishers, Bloomsbury, Mindex, and Paulines Publications (Africa). Some of his peer-reviewed journal articles have appeared in Journal of Ecumenical Studies, Journal of Black Catholic Theological Symposium, International Journal of African Catholicism, Journal of Buddhist – Christian Studies, and Filosofia Theoretica: African Journal of Philosophy, Culture, and Religions. His recent monograph is Fostering Interreligious Encounters in Pluralist Societies: Hospitality and Friendship (Palgrave Macmillan, 2019). He is currently working on an edited volume that celebrates the contributions of BIPOC women to the woman suffrage movement.
