PACTPAN Anti-Human Trafficking Campaign 2026
Restoring Victims to Dignity: A Call to End Human Trafficking
Every year on 30 July, the world marks the United Nations World Day Against Trafficking in Persons to raise awareness about the global crime of human trafficking, support survivors, and strengthen efforts to prevent exploitation. This year’s UN theme, “Trapped Behind the Scam,” highlights how deceptive promises of jobs, education, migration, and a better life are used to lure millions of people into trafficking and modern slavery.
In solidarity with this global observance, the Pan-African Catholic Theology and Pastoral Network (PACTPAN) presents its 2026 theme: “Restoring Victims to Dignity: A Call to End Human Trafficking.” Inspired by the Gospel and Catholic Social Teaching, this campaign affirms that every human person is created in the image and likeness of God and deserves to live in freedom, dignity, and hope.
The campaign seeks to promote awareness, prevention, protection, empowerment, and the restoration of survivors, while encouraging faith communities, families, institutions, and people of goodwill to work together in ending human trafficking.
Together, let us restore dignity, protect the vulnerable, and build a world free from human trafficking.
