This is the latest unit that will carry out ongoing research on mass killings and genocide in Africa. The unit seeks to develop tools to help the church and wider society to embrace a non-violence approach to conflict. It also will seek to tell the stories of those who are being killed in wars, mass deaths, genocide, and terrorism in Africa and deepen an understanding within the church to why such atrocities keep on happening in Africa. The unit works with victims and change agents to develop tools for the church on how to keep the memories of the dead alive through restorative justice, healing, and promotion of the common good and addressing hatred, and other political, cultural, religious, ethnocentric, and ecological factors that create the conditions for mass killings and genocide.
