Palaver and Synodal Church

Given the need for ongoing dialogue in the church and society in Africa, this unit does research on the application of the African palaver in creating the practices for a listening and synodal church in Africa. The unit develops tools for dialogue in the church and for conflict resolution. It also seeks to surface the voices of those marginalized in the church, and to make audible the lamentations of those who are being oppressed and abused in the church, especially women and the poor, with a view to bringing about practices of compassion, consultation, healing, justice, and pastoral accompaniment.
